Awake
is a new web-site project designed by and for young women. It was
developed as part of a Women Tasmania project focusing on the issue
of body-image and its affect on young women's thoughts and behaviours.
The web-site challenges the viewer
to think critically about mass media messages concerning the ideal
woman, and to be aware of just whose interests are at stake in the
multi-million dollar beautification industry.
Women Tasmania is delighted to
be hosting this web-site project which was created by Saria Phillips,
Social Work Student, University of Tasmania.
