Power trip to Canberra competition

Imogen House, of Wynyard, was the Tasmanian winner of Country to Canberra 2016

Young rural female students with big dreams are encouraged to enter Country to Canberra for an opportunity to win a power trip to Canberra to meet women leaders, including high profile politicians and CEOs.

The Country to Canberra program will include undertaking motivating leadership and public speaking training, learning how to speak to the media, touring Parliament House, and meeting Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, and other female students.

At least 10 young women will win the 4th annual Leadership Competition and score an all-expenses paid ‘Power Trip’ to Australia’s capital from Sunday 3 December 2017 until 6 December 2017.

In 2016, Imogen House, of Wynyard, was the Tasmanian winner of Country to Canberra.

To enter students must be attending schools in grades 10, 11 or 12 in 2017 an must be 15 years of age by 2 December 2017.  The students must also attend a school located at least 50 kilometres away from a town with a population of 80,000 persons or more.
