The Department of Premier and Cabinet's State Service Management Office has teamed up with the White Ribbon Working Group to promote Share the Dignity’s annual 'It’s In The Bag' campaign. The ‘It's In The Bag’ Christmas collection provides personal hygiene products and everyday luxuries to homeless women, women at risk or women experiencing domestic violence.
The campaign runs from 18 November to 2 December 2017, just in time for Christmas.
Do you have a spare handbag (in good condition) at home that you no longer use? Fill it with sanitary items, hygiene products and essentials!
Over the next few weeks when you’re at the shops, consider collecting some of the following items for your handbag:
Soap, tampons, pads, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, hygiene wipes, lip balm, tissues, hair brush, umbrella, wax strips, antibacterial hand gel, makeup, hair ties, travel shampoo and conditioner, band aids and so on!
No worries! You can bring in new items and they can be added to the other collections. Alternatively you can ask your friends and family if they have one to donate.
Please Note: all items to go in the bags should be new and unopened. Medications and food will not be accepted.
You can donate directly to Share the Dignity.
