Hon. Jane Howlett, Minister for Sport and Recreation

The Girls in Action Sports Project report was launched on Wednesday 25 August 2021 by the Hon. Jane Howlett Minister for Sport and Recreation.

The report provides new insights into the barriers faced by girls in participating in three action sports - mountain biking, surfing and skateboarding - and more importantly, the factors and supports which enable and encourage them to get involved. The report was completed by a University of Tasmania School of Social Sciences and Menzies Institute of Medical Research team, with support from Communities, Sport and Recreation and Womensport & Recreation Tasmania.

The report's recommendations are relevant to a wide range of sport and recreation organisations and providers.
