Remembering lives lost to family violence

candles burning brightly

Candle Light Vigils will be held this week to remember those who have died because of family violence.

In Australia, one woman is murdered every week by her current or former partner. By joining an evening of reflection and remembrance, you can honour their memories and help bring light to this crisis.

The Family Violence Candle Light Vigils are a nationwide event and well established for almost two decades.

The Department of Communities Tasmania’s Family Violence Counselling and Support Service has been pivotal establishing the Candle Light Vigil in Tasmania, in partnership with the family violence community sector.

‘If you or someone you know is impacted by family violence, call the Safe at Home Family Violence Response and Referral Line on 1800 633 937 or the Family Violence Counselling and Support Service on 1800 608 122

In an emergency, always call 000.
