Applications are now open for Sports Australia’s 2022 Women Leaders in Sport Program.

The grants are open to all eligible National Sporting Organisations (NSOs), National Sporting Organisations for people with a Disability (NSODs) as well as state and territory sporting organisation affiliated with an NSO or an NSOD recognised by Sport Australia.

The grants will assist sports to create workplaces that are more diverse and inclusive, and attracting, retaining, and developing more talented female leaders across the sports sector.

The Women Leaders in Sport Program has supported more than 26,000 women and 100 local, state and national sporting organisations to undertake valuable learning and development opportunities and increase the number of women leaders in sport across Australia.

Organisations may apply for grants of up to $20 000. Funded projects will need to be delivered in 2022.

Women currently working or volunteering in sport may apply for an individual grant of up to $10 000 to undertake a course which supports their professional development.

Strategic priorities of the Tasmanian Leadership and Participation for Women Action Plan 2021-23 are to:

  • Support skills development and employment pathways.
  • Facilitate leadership development.
  • Promote recognition.

Applications for both the individual and organisation Women Leaders in Sport Program grants close 15 October 2021.
