Ms Courtney Hurworth (Chair, Ex-Officio Member)

Courtney Hurworth is Acting Deputy Secretary of the Community Partnerships and Priorities Division, Department of Premier and Cabinet. Courtney's role leads social policy development, service design and commissioning across multiple government portfolios.

Before this, Courtney was Executive Director, and Director, Community Policy and Engagement, with a focus on policy development in family and sexual violence, women, veterans, multicultural affairs, LGBTIQA+ communities, older Tasmanians, Tasmanians with disability, and the wellbeing of children and young people.

Previously Courtney held a range of policy roles in the Department of Education, and was Senior Advisor, Education, to the former Tasmanian Minister for Education, the Hon Sarah Courtney MP.

Courtney’s first job in the Tasmanian State Service was as a Customer Service Officer at Huonville Library. The lessons Courtney learned about people, inclusion, community, and the pivotal role Government services can play in helping people thrive have guided her throughout her career. Courtney is a graduate of the University of Melbourne.
